What is e-Safety and why does it matter?
All children have access to the World Wide Web through a variety of devices at school, at home, or anywhere there is Internet Access.
E-safety forms a part of the Computing Curriculum. At Nelson Infant School we value the use of technology to support and enhance the children’s learning, amongst its many other benefits. Our school computer system is designed to protect your child or children from many of these risks by blocking their access to unsuitable websites. We want all of Nelson Infant pupils to use technology confidently but also to feel comfortable enough to deal with any issues that may arise. We believe that the best thing to do is to teach children how to keep themselves safe online.
As a school we have developed a set of E-safety rules to encourage the children to use the internet safely. We also encourage parents/carers to familiarise themselves and enforce these rules at home too. They are available to view on the link below:
Things you can do at home to keep your child or children e-Safe are listed in the Parent/Carer e-Safety booklet available in the school office.
