Meet the teachers

Meet our lovely Reception Teachers - Mel and Lara - as they explore our new outdoor learning space.

We would like to wish a warm welcome to all the new families that will be joining us in September 2020.  We are very much looking forward to meeting you all.

We will be updating this page regularly with any news and correspondence that you may find useful.

Due to the current Covid19 situation, we are carefully considering arrangements for September and will do our very best to make sure that your child's transition to school is as smooth as possible.  Your child’s wellbeing is of the utmost importance to us.

Unfortunately, due to Covid 19, we will be unable to offer our conventional opening evening- where you and your child have the opportunity to visit the school and meet the team.  Nevertheless, we are planning to hold a parent/carer evening on Thursday 2nd July at 6pm via Zoom.  Before this meeting you receive the PowerPoint all about our school and what to do expect during your child's reception year; so if you have any questions you would like to ask, please email them to us prior to this meeting at  The evening will give you an opportunity to meet myself and our amazing team.

We are hoping to be able to invite you and your child to a teddy bears picnic in July; this will give you and your child an opportunity to have a play and meet their new teacher.  Of course, this very much depends on government guidelines, you be informed about this and our induction plans nearer to the time.

As part of the transition process, we usually meet your child in their pre-school setting.  Whilst we are currently unable to visit, we are keen to talk to key workers as early in this process as we can; this helps us to start to plan to meet your childs' needs.  In order for us to arrange these transition conversations please can you inform us of: your childs' preschool; days and times they attend; pre-school/nursery contact number and the name of their key worker.  Please email this information to

In September we carry out home visits, so we can meet you and your child in their own setting to learn more about their likes and dislikes - again, this is very dependent on the pandemic.

To help your child’s transition into school in September, we will have a staggered timetable for the first few weeks and we will advise you nearer the time if your child will attend in the morning or afternoon.

We will keep you updated as soon as we are able.  In the meantime, please do not worry.  If you have any burning questions or feel there is information we need to know as soon as possible. Please email us at or contact us on our phone line 01603 620344.
